These are the general ranks for the Four Clans. Realize that high rank is only given to active members. If you are not active, and are a high rank, it will be given to someone else, and your cat either turned rouge, or killed.
General Ranks
- Leader-The head of the clan. This cat must be granted nine lives from Starclan. Usually wise and a skilled fighter, their title must have Star after it. (I.E. Namestar)
- Deputy-The leader's right hand cat. They usually organize hunting parties and patrol. Very respected, this cat will become leader if the current one dies. Keep your warrior name.
- Medicine Cat-A cat close to Starclan that heals the wounded and ill. A cat to be greatly respected.
- Warriors-Fulls warriors take on duties such as hunting and patrolling. They also take on apprentices (Must be six moons old) to train to become warriors. Gain your full warrior name.
- Apprentices-Warriors (And maybe one medicine cat in training to the current medicine cat; medical apprentices do not take on regular apprentice duties.) in training. Mentors must be active warriors. You cannot become an apprentice until you are six moons (Six months) old. The apprentice has Paw after their general title. (I.E. Namepaw)
- Queens-Nursing or expecting she-cats. All queens take care of all the kits together.
- Kits-Cats younger then six moons. Have Kit at the end of their general title. (I.E. Namekit)
- Elders-The older cats, usually too old to hunt and patrol. Apprentices take care of them as their training.
- Rouges-A cat that does not belong to any clan, usually one who has been exiled from one clan by their leader. Sometimes a kittypet who has ruffed it on their own.
- Kittypet-A cat that lives with twolegs. (Humans)

Now I am aware that since this is a site based on a series of books by Erin hunter that everyone here who has joined is aware of most of the ranks and how they are distributed.
But in case something isn't clear here is how everything is sorted
The Clans follow an efficient ranking system. The various positions within the Clans include: kit, apprentice, warrior, medicine cat, medicine cat apprentice, elder, queen, deputy, and leader.
Kit
Kits are the youngest rank and is reserved for kittens between the age of 1-6 moons. They have no privileges or restrictions and are expected to listen to all the older cats.
Apprentice
Apprentice rank is reserved for cats 6-12 moons old. Apprentices are training to become warriors. They are expected to listen to older cats and obey there mentors. Their responsibilities include going on patrols with there mentors, training and defending camp as well as caring for the elders. Apprentices are forbidden to have kits.
Medicine Cat Apprentice
There is only one medicine cat apprentice at a time. They are training to become a medicine cat. There responsibilities include listening to the older cats, there mentor and helping to heal the cats of the Clans. Medicine cat apprentices, like medicine cats, are forbidden to have mates or kits. Sometimes StarClan sends them messages and omens, but such honors are usually reserved for fully fledged medicine cats.
Warrior
Warriors make up the bulk of the Clan. There rank is reserved for cats 12+ moons, who have proved themselves worthy through apprentice training. They are responsible for defending there territory, hunting for the Clan and patrolling. They will also take on any task that the Clan need done when no other rank can do it.
Senior Warrior
Senior warriors are older, more respected warriors who sometimes are called upon to advise the leader and deputy. They have the same responsibilities as warriors. Senior warriors often have more of a chance at being given apprentices.
Mentor
Mentors are warriors who have been appointed the honor of training an apprentice. They are responsible for training there apprentices, as well as the usual warrior duties. Female mentors are not supposed to have kits; as it interrupts apprentice training. Mentors return to warrior status when they deem there apprentice worthy of becoming a warrior (12 moons).
Queen
Queens are she-cats who are expecting or caring for, a litter of kits. Some cats however, choose to stay in the nursery to help younger queens and care for kits. The queen's responsibilities’s include caring for there litter, as well as other kits in the nursery. Most queens will return to warrior status when there kits are apprenticed (12 moons). Queens are only expected to defend camp in the most desperate situations, and are usually spared by offensive warriors.
Medicine Cat
Their is a maximum of two Medicine cats per Clan, though there is usually only one. Medicine cats communicate with StarClan, usually through dreams or omens only they can interpret. They are expected to heal other cats, and train there apprentices if they have one. Medicine cats can not have kits or mates.
Deputy
The deputy is second in command to the leader, and organizes patrols and hunting parties, as well as any other duties assigned by the leader. There is only ever one deputy. They help there leader and advise them in making discussions. A female deputy can not have kits, if she is to remain deputy though having a mate is permitted. A deputy is chosen by the leader, and there predecessor if the leader falls. Deputies also must train an apprentice if they have one.
Leader
The leader of the Clan rules the Clan; leader’s word is law. A leader must make discussions for the Clan, as well as represent the Clan at gatherings. A leader can communicate with StarClan, and are rewarded with nine lives and a name that ends in star (see naming) when they become leader. They must perform various ceremonies and train apprentices is they have one (traditionally the leader trains the deputy's kit).
